Hidden inspection hatch for tiling “Engineer” is an economy version of hidden inspection hatches, which with its reliability and simplicity of execution is a significant competition to the line of more expensive models. The revision hatch is used to provide easy access to engineering communications (faucets, filters, meters), installed in walls with subsequent finishing with volumetric facing materials: tile, porcelain stoneware, mosaic, artificial stone, glass, mirror, etc.
Features of the “Engineer” hatch
– Hidden hatch under the tiles “Engineer” is a very strong construction of aluminum frame and aluminum door with a steel hinge;
– The hinge of the hatch is powder coated, which provides reliable protection against rust;
– The hatch door is vertically adjustable;
– The hinge of the hatch door has an increased load capacity and can be faced with heavy finishing materials such as porcelain stoneware and natural stone;
– The hatch is equipped with a lock that allows the hatch door to be opened and closed with a push. No additional handles, suction cups, locks, etc. are required;
– The size of the hatch door matches the size of the frame, which allows it to be tiled or mosaicized without any problems.

Technical recommendations
- The hatch is installed inside industrial, commercial and residential premises.
- It is used for access to buried utilities and niches.
- A minimum of 60% of the tile area must be applied to the hatch door.
Permissible tile overhang:
Top - up to 100 mm
Bottom-up to 100 mm
On the hinge side - up to 100 mm
On the opposite side of the hinge:
hatch width up to 400 - up to 15 mm
hatch width from 400 - up to 20 mm
Door adjustment
It is possible to adjust the door vertically.
To do this, simply
- loosen one set screw by turning it counterclockwise;
- fasten the screw on the opposite side by turning it clockwise by the same number of turns.
Transportation and storage
Transportation is carried out in a horizontal position by any type of transport, provided that the elements of the product structure are not damaged. It is not allowed to drop the product when loading, to transport it by dragging and other actions that entail damage to the product elements.
Hatch description
The Engineer tile hatch is a construction consisting of an aluminum frame, a metal hinge, and a door filled with a 12.5 mm thick sheet of gypsum fiberglass, powder coated, which provides reliable protection.
Installation of the hatch according to the illustration:
- Prepare the opening for the hatch in the wall
- Attention! Do not remove the transportation lock
- Install the hatch in the prepared opening
- Close the hatch door and adjust its position using a construction-level
- Open the hatch door and securely fix the hatch in the opening
- Close the hatch and glue the tiles to the hatch door
- Grout the inter-tile joints, and fill the seam around the perimeter of the door with silicone sealant
- After the sealant dries, cut through the seam with a painting knife at a 45-degree angle
- The hatch opens either by pushing or using a suction cup (only for smooth tiles)
